April 11th is World Parkinsons Day, and April is Parkinsons Awareness Month.
The Benicia Parkinsons Support Group is hosting their annual Parkinsons
Awareness Rally on Saturday, April 11th, at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall, 1150 First
Street, Benicia. The Rally is open to the public and is designed to provide education,
resources, and support for individuals living with Parkinsons Disease, their care
partners, as well as the broader community.
Rally Hours: 9:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
Registration and Check-In: Begins at 8:00 A.M.
Program: 9:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
Registration Fees
- Early Bird Rally Admission Only: $10
- At the Door: $15
Registration will be accepted at the door; however, seating is limited. Advance online
registration is strongly encouraged by

Proceeds from the Rally will be used to increase awareness of Parkinsons Disease,
support local and Northern California Parkinsons programs, and provide educational
materials, seminars, and events for individuals with Parkinsons and their care
partners.

The Bill Cawley Memorial Walk is held in conjunction with the Awareness Rally and serves
to remind our community of the impact that Parkinsons disease has on our beloved
citizens. Funds raised go to support our groups activities. The walk especially
honors Bill Cawley, the husband of one of the founding members of the Benicia
Parkinsons Support Group.
Walk Check-In: In front of the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1150 First Street, Benicia
Begins at 7:45 A.M.
Closes at 8:15 A.M.
Walk Location: Around Benicia City Park
- Registration Fees
- Early Bird Registration: $10 WALK ONLY
- At the Door: $15 WALK ONLY
- Early Bird Registration RALLY and WALK: $20
- At the Door RALLY and WALK: $25
The walk will take place around the perimeter of City Park and will consist of two separate timed sessions. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants in each session who complete the greatest number of laps in the allotted time.
- Participants Age 29 and Under:
8:20 A.M. – 8:40 A.M.
- Participants Age 30 and Over: 8:40 A.M. – 9:00 A.M.

The Drift from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Event Guidelines
- Strollers are permitted.
- The walking route is wheelchair- and walker-accessible.
- For safety reasons, skateboards, bicycles, inline skates, and wheeled footwear
are not permitted.
- Pets are not allowed in the event areas or inside the Veterans Hall. Service
animals are permitted.
